Blackpool tour

May 2022

The story of the Albert Wadkin family and the machine guns originates from a special event during World War II. During the war, Blackpool Pleasure Beach amusement park was used as a factory for producing aircraft components. However, surprisingly, the owners of this park, the Wadkin family, were not just entertainers, but also possessed professional expertise in manufacturing machine guns.

At that time, the Wadkin family applied this expertise to the war effort. They set up a secret workshop in the basement of the amusement park and began manufacturing machine guns to support the British war effort. These machine guns were used to equip the British military, aiding them in achieving victory on the battlefield.
